Commercial Landscape Solutions for a Sustainable Tomorrow
We are a startup, but not just any startup; we are a team of seasoned professionals with a combined 75+ years of experience in the landscape industry. Our founder, David Minor, has built and sold two highly successful commercial landscape services businesses. These companies have earned over 25 awards specifically for landscaping excellence. Beyond these achievements, David’s businesses were recognized as Small Business of the Year in Fort Worth, named to the Dallas 100 list for the fastest-growing companies in Dallas, and honored as an Inc. 500 company, recognizing the 500 fastest-growing companies in the United States.
David Minor’s leadership in the landscape industry has also been recognized on a national scale, including his receipt of the National Landscape Professional of the Year award his role as a past president of the National Association of Landscape Professionals. In addition to his industry involvement, David was the founding Director of the nationally recognized Neeley Entrepreneurship Center at TCU, now known as the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In that capacity, he was named one of the Top Ten Entrepreneurship Center Directors in the country by Entrepreneur Magazine. He now holds the title of Founder Emeritus and chairs the Institute’s board.
Joining David in this venture is his longtime colleague and CEO of The Greener Good, Rick Onstott. Rick began his career with David as an intern from his alma mater, Texas A&M, during their first venture over 25 years ago and later served as President of their second company. Although a proud Aggie, he also served on the Horticultural Advisory Board at Oklahoma State University. Rick is a recipient of the 40 Under 40 award from The Fort Worth Business Press, a former member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and notably oversaw the Grand Platinum Award-winning project in their last company, which recognizes the best-maintained landscape in Texas by the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association.
Finally, we are delighted to announce that Patrick Wallace has joined the team as Operations Manager. Patrick is one of the most accomplished landscape and irrigation professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He is not only a licensed irrigator and certified chemical applicator but also a licensed backflow tester. Additionally, he is a Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA) Texas Certified Water Smart Professional and Water Efficient Recognized Professional with both the Tarrant Regional Water District and the Upper Trinity Regional Water District. Patrick is also the Vice President of the Lonestar Irrigation Association and the Irrigation Director for Region V of TNLA. With his extensive background, you can trust that the sustainability initiatives at The Greener Good are in expert hands. Our executive team is complemented by a dedicated staff of landscape professionals who represent the best in the DFW landscape industry.
The Greener Good Charitable Foundation is more than just a charitable entity, it will be a movement dedicated to promoting sustainability in business and combating climate change. Born from the innovative spirit of The Greener Good, our foundation will focus on offsetting our own carbon footprint while inspiring businesses across various industries to become more sustainable and concerned about the environment. We believe that by setting an example, we can encourage other companies to take meaningful action toward a greener future.
We are funded not only through profits from The Greener Good parent company but also through donations from our founder, who shares a deep commitment to the cause. Together, we reinvest these resources into programs that address the climate crisis and help communities in need.
These initiatives not only restore ecosystems and sequester carbon but also create jobs for local communities, providing income and improving agricultural conditions.
This technology directly reduces greenhouse gas emissions while often providing infrastructure development, which can boost local economies by creating employment opportunities in clean energy sectors.
These projects reduce reliance on fossil fuels and bring clean, affordable energy to underserved regions, improving health outcomes by reducing pollution.
We anticipate supporting impactful programs such as Trees for the Future, which focuses on planting trees to offset emissions while supporting sustainable food systems in impoverished regions, and Gold Standard, which certifies projects that improve both environmental and social outcomes, including clean water and renewable energy for developing countries.
What will set us apart is our vision to inspire sustainable entrepreneurship across various sectors. In the long term, we hope to offer consulting services and welcome visits from other companies eager to learn how we have successfully implemented sustainable practices. By sharing the lessons we’ve learned on our own journey to becoming carbon neutral, we aim to serve as a model for others. Our goal is to demonstrate that sustainable practices can be both profitable and transformative, fostering a new generation of entrepreneurs committed to environmental stewardship.
While the foundation has its roots in the landscape industry, our impact and influence will extend much further. By funding projects that simultaneously address carbon emissions and support communities in need, we will prove that sustainability and social impact can go hand in hand. We believe that every business has the power to drive positive change, and we’re here to help them do just that. As we evolve, The Greener Good Charitable Foundation will continue to focus on sustainable entrepreneurship, offsetting carbon emissions, and investing in initiatives that uplift both people and the planet. This is only the beginning of our journey, but our commitment to creating a better, more sustainable world remains unwavering.
